*2008 / 2009  WINTER HEATING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM*

 

The Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road SW in Warren, announces the beginning of the Winter Crisis Program starting November 3, 2008.  Customers who are in need of utility assistance may contact the agency at (330) 393-2507, Ext 225 for an appointment. Walk-in customers are accepted only on Monday and Wednesday mornings beginning at 7:30 AM for the first 15 people to arrive.  Customers must provide photo identification; social security cards for all dependent household members with no social security number on their photo id.; the last 3 months of income statements for all household members; utility bills or fuel receipts; and proof of disability (if disabled) for the Energy Assistance credit.  Customers must have all the necessary documents to be seen for an interview.

 

We will start to schedule appointments twice a week for utility assistance. Our voice mail will give you the available dates for appointments.

 

To be eligible for assistance, customers must have a notice of disconnection on their gas and/or electric utilities.  Customers using fuel oil, propane, coal or wood must have less than a 10 day supply available to be eligible. 

    

     Income Guidelines to be eligible for assistance:

     Household Size                   3 Months Total Income           12 Months Total Income

               1                                          $4,550                                    $18,200

               2                                          $6,125                                    $24,500

               3                                          $7,700                                    $30,800

   

**For additional household members, add $1,350 to the 3 Months Total Income and $5,400 to the 12 Months Total Income listed above.

    

Customers in need of utility assistance who do not meet the eligibility guidelines may pay the utility company directly.  Under the Winter Reconnection Order, the total amount of $175.00 may be paid to regulated utility companies to restore service, to stop disconnection of service, or to start new service at a different address. The deadline to apply for the Winter Reconnection Order is March 31st.
