The Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road SW in
Warren, announces the beginning of the Winter Crisis Program
beginning Nov. 1st, 2011. The Winter
Crisis Program (WCP) is designed to help qualified households
pay for winter heating. This program applies to households who's
income is at or below the 200% income guidelines and/or who can provide
physician documentation of medical necessity. The program
provides a one-time payment toward assistance
of up to $175.00 applied toward the electric utilities costs of
winter heating. The benefit must result in continuation of service for
30 days. You do not have to be
enrolled in PIPP or have a disconnection notice to be eligible for the
Winter Crisis Program.
Walk-in days are available Monday and
Wednesday mornings excluding holidays. On Mondays the first 40
clients will be seen, the first 20
people in line will be seen in the am and 21-40 will be seen
after 12 pm. . Wednesdays the first 20
applicants will be seen in the am only. Doors open at 8
am, please understand
that this is a first come first serve situation we do our best
to assist all who come to us but our time is limited, therefore
only the applicants given a number will be seen.

Be
prepared:
Customers must provide:

photo identification

social security cards for all
household members with no social security number
on their photo id

the last 13 weeks of income
statements for all household members

utility bills or fuel receipts for
gas, electric or
bulk fuel

proof of disability (if disabled)
for the Energy Assistance credit
You must have
all information required at the
time of the appointment or your it may
have to be rescheduled.
Customers in need of utility assistance
who do not meet the eligibility guidelines may pay the utility
company directly.
